Submissions
Thank you for your interest in submitting your writing to be featured on Raising The Fifth. We are delighted that you have chosen us to consider your words.
We accept pieces that have something to say about not having children (from a myriad of perspectives). We’re especially interested in top quality poetry and creative writing that approaches this topic in an abstract, unusual or indirect way, though all writing on this theme is welcome.
– Pieces for ‘I Want You To Know’ should be no longer than 1000 words (poems or creative non fiction)
– Poetry submissions should be no longer than 4 A4 pages (size 12 font). Please start each poem on a new page.
We do not accept work that has been previously published online (including on personal blogs) or on social media. We do, however, accept work that has been previously published in print journals, as long as you retain the copyright and ensure that you tell us who to credit in regard to its first publication.
We welcome simultaneous submissions, but please do tell us ASAP if you need to withdraw your submission.
We do not accept work that is discriminatory in any way, shape or form.
We do not accept work that has been written by AI.
